I bought this product as an upgrade from NIS 2003; please listen to me; DONT LET THIS PRODUCT ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR PC. I am a reasonably computer literate person, and I have so far spent the best part of 2 days re-installing, re-booting and generally meddling about with my PC trying to get this software to work properly. It is a mess; the Norton "help" pages have been of no use. I intend to bin the disc and go elsewhere. Never again...

Highly recommended but needs a little patience  |
I knew before I bought this that there were installation issues as I had seen other reviews on Amazon. However this did not put me off as I have found Norton products to be excellent over the last few years. I found the installation instructions in the review by Graham in Manchester (16th Feb 2004) to be very useful and this helped the installation on Windows XP.However, following installation 5MB of updates were downloaded, then a full system scan was performed. During this process I got the notorious internal program error message and when I looked it up on Symantecs site it told me I had to uninstall then reinstall the program! I did this and then 23MB of updates were downloaded which includes program bug fixes. This was very time consuming on a dialup connection. A full system scan was then performed and everything was okay. Would have been 5 stars but minus 1 for having to reinstall.

Really bad product !! |

Since I had installed the "Update" my computer have so many problems, firstly the automatic firewall decided that Symantec webpage was a threat to the system!! Therefore not access and not liveUpdate, so fix the problem took me a while, in the end I Updated Norton system works professional and Internet Security work again, but the next day Outlook was a threat and I decided to disconnect the automatic firewall, I configured it manually. But my computer now is very slow, and many times Norton does not work properly, all the time is sending errors information’s to Symantec, and two times the computer got instable!! Of course that I tried to disconnect Norton and the computer work faster, then I installed Norton Internet Security 2003 with Norton antivirus 2004 and not problems at all.
I am very disappointed of this product; I do not understand why Symantec release a product that is so complicated to run. And I am sure that I am not the only one disappointed of this Update, next year I will change to another Internet firewall solution.
